Never been but I hear there's beaver and we saw a robotics team named after beaver and they were pretty beaver. I saw a beaver there, but they didn't let me cook it to make spicy beaver pizza. 🦫🌶️🍕. Us rednecks like our spicy beaver pizza (Yes, every image is a beaver)

My husband and I rented a lakehouse on this beautiful island in Lake Michigan. It was the best vacation we have taken as a couple without the kids. We went last summer and we have been dreaming about going back ever since. Lots of places to Rockhound, beaches, lighthouses. There is only 1 road that has a grocery store, bar, gift shops...etc. They all close super early, and their necessities, like groceries and gas, are very expensive. So, I suggest bringing your own groceries if possible. It's a very small island with BIG views. You will see wildlife, there are Beavers, lol, Snakes, lots of Deer, Turtles, Birds, etc. There are beautiful Woods, beaches, a huge rock (is a landmark there) It's quiet and slow and if you love the outdoors and no neighbors then you will enjoy this peaceful little Island. You can only reach it by a very very small plane, or a 32 mile (2hour) ferry ride. We chose the Ferry because we wanted our car and the boat accommodates taking your car over. I could go on and on about Beaver Island. We will be back there very soon.

You can only get there by air or by ferry. People are very nice but pretty cut off from the rest of the world. I think they like it that way. Expect prices to be higher because it is an island

Beaver island is a little hidden gem! There's fishing, snorkeling/diving, swimming, hiking, biking, hunting, island exploring, camping and so much more to do! Great place to get back to basics, spend some family time and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life! For our first trip, we stayed at Beaver Island Retreat and were not disappointed! We went fishing with captain Bob, went snorkeling and exploring with captain Mike, visited the marine museum, the toy museum, saw protar's house/tomb, hiked to the top of mt. Pisgah to watch the sunset and had a blast around the island in general. Tons of wildlife to see with lots of cool spiders and snakes (if those interest you). The best place we ate on the island was the bakery/deli, but you have to get there before they close at 3pm. Can't wait to visit again!

We are 'regular' visitors here (twice a season for many, many years) and it's just as awesome & beautiful each time; NEVER gets old. If you are looking for a place that is tranquil, quiet & beautiful, this is the place!
