The program traces how Charlevoix, current population just over 2,500, has been able to achieve a reputation that now stretches around the world. Explored will be the mysterious orgin of the slogan "Charlevoix the Beautiful," how the town contributed to the success of the Apollo Space Program and the World War II victory in Europe, its former renown as the most desirable vacation destination in Michigan, the scores of notable people who have walked its streets or lived here (such as Ernest Hemingway), the national and international records that have been set here including entry into the Guinness Book of World Records, "firsts," "bests," and "mosts" that have happened in Charlevoix, plus much more.
