1. Paddle

2. Bike

When visiting Beaver Island, one of the best ways to get around the island is by bike. While you’re more than welcome to bring your car to the island, locals recommend visitors bring their bikes. Not only is the island easy to navigate, but the entire length of the island is also only 13 miles. Biking is a great way to see the hidden treasures of the island. Roads are easy to navigate and bikes provide the easiest means of transportation for visitors. View trails map

3. Hike

If you enjoy hiking, Beaver Island is going to impress you. There are four nature preserves open to the public on the island. Each trail ranges in difficulty, and the nature preserves have amazing views of Lake Michigan and inland forests. If you enjoy birding, there are great trails on the island full of wildlife. How do you get to Beaver Island? Located 32 miles off the coast of Charlevoix, you can get to Beaver Island by either a 2-hour boat ride with Beaver Island Boat Company or a 15-minute plane ride via Fresh Air Aviation or Island Airways.
