Navid and Julie, who are property managers for UpNorth Vacation Rentals and operate out of this resort complex, provided a subpar experience throughout our stay which was booked via AirBnB. They acted shocked when we shared that the WiFi was not working and claimed that they attempted to resolve it. While they also claim there was an issue with the line being cut, they told us not to expect connectivity because it was “out of their control” due to the internet being an HOA amenity. Therefore, it’s worth noting there is really no internet connection and you will be met with a rude response for expecting it. While we understand there are many properties being managed here, people should know to specifically avoid any bookings for Up North, and Shanty Creek Village should be made aware that there are problematic owners (Navid and Julie) who are creating a poor reflection of the overall property. I recommend avoiding this option entirely.

Beautiful area and the staff were wonderful. I stayed here for a conference, and the food they provided was often inedible. The rooms were really old. The tub dripped all the time, the shower drained super slow, the heat system is very outdated, and my tv did not work. Beautiful location and the staff work hard but they really need to updates the rooms.

Played 5 rounds of golf over 3 days. No bev carts, Legend was in terrible shape, they have let Hawks Eye go. Didn't tell any of the 36 people in my group that there was a scheduled city wide power outage on our 2nd night. Most of the staff were great but management of the resort isn't even trying.

We were only there overnight for a conference presentation. I was going to play golf on the Legend course but the price jumped $30 over night. I played The Chief instead. Our experience was fine.

We had dinner at the Lakeview restaurant at Summit Village! The food was excellent and very flavorful! Our server was wonderful! We had the same older woman all three days, and she was so nice and a pleasure to talk to! She answered all of my dad’s questions, as well as took all of the pictures my mom and I asked of her! I would definitely recommend her as your server!
