The location is great as is the view. The staff go above and beyond. The place however is way past it's prime. Rooms have mold. The room we stayed at had a spider in the corner that had a web made over it. There are no elevators so if you have issues with stairs request a first floor room. The stairs here are in a turret and are in a spiral. (Super cool at times but dangerous mostly.) The place was built into a hill and on a curve they can only do so much.

Always my favorite hotel to go to when I stay in Charlevoix! The rooms are always clean, the water pressure is perfect, the staff is super friendly and helpful, not a fan of room #1 because of the traffic lights but that was a fluke because I normally stay in the Suites. This place will forever have my support. Walking distance to all of the shopping and sights. Restaurant is one parking lot away!!

The staff was so nice but this place is a dump. It's dirty. It's such a great location but just gross. We were booked to stay 3 nights and left after 1. We could hear, word for word, the couple arguing next door. The man in the next room sneezed and I said "bless you". Some other rooms A/C buzzed loudly for 10 seconds, once a minute, all night. The patio with a lovely view of Lake Michigan had not been swept in a long time.

This place is just gross !!! Everything is SO outdated and worn. Counters came up to just above my knees. Toilets were so low you could barely get up off them. Electrical outlets did not work. So small you could barely move around, especially the bathroom. The entrance door had a big gap where anything could have crawled in. Continental breakfast was a joke. Not enough parking. First time here and LAST time. Could not wait to get out of this place. Just hope I did not pick up a disease while staying here.

Not a new hotel and in need of a makeover, but overall it was surprising nice. I immediately noticed that our room was very unlevel throughout and I later pointed out the weird outside steps that were random, we would later learn that Earl Young, the designer never leveled his bases, but built to fit the surroundings. During a recent impromptu trip along the west side, the hubby and I booked a room here and it did not disappoint. The location was perfect, and our balcony had the best view of the canal and drawbridge. Every where we wanted to fo we walked. We like it so much we are heading back next month.
