My only disappointment is that I am unable to give a higher rating After growing up hearing stories about the restaurant, its atmosphere, food and drink, from my parents and having never been in my life, I was delighted and surprised to find a true hidden gem of Northern Michigan. The service was incredible, our server, Stacy, treated us like family and was extremely attentive to the table, quick to offer recommendations our accommodations whenever and wherever needed. Our food was incredible, somehow even better than the way my parents words had painted it. My dinner, the Grilled Chicken with Fettuccine, was cooked to perfection and served with fresh bell peppers and tomatoes. And while we dined on the patio, I would be remiss to not mention the interior. A wonderfully welcoming waiting area leads you to the bar and dining rooms, which from the brief look I caught were also very well positioned, allowing the area to be full, but not overly loud so that conversations are still discernible. Overall, a true hidden gem just outside of beautiful Charlevoix Michigan, a wonderful night to close out a great day in the lake

Argonne House is a hidden gem—upscale, beautiful, and absolutely worth the short trip out of downtown. The service was top notch from start to finish, and the food was truly incredible. I had the shrimp platter and the filet, and both were absolutely amazing—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Honestly, I’d choose this spot over any downtown restaurant in a heartbeat. Totally worth the detour!

Hands down the best overall culinary experience in Charlevoix county when truly analyzing and using the prive over food/service/atmosphere ratio scale. I wished I would have known about this place sooner in my life. Costs are highly competitive and quality is top notch! I try to go here once every two weeks when in town.

A very good option for dinner if you’re in the area. They were a bit flustered when we were ready to be sat due to a large party that preceded us, but they did a great job once we were able to be seated. The cocktails were okay—my old fashioned was not properly mixed or very well balanced, so it was mostly whiskey for the first few sips. The French 75 was okay, but nothing special. The steak and shrimp were both tasty, but not mind-blowing. Most of the food could have used more salt, and the portions were a bit much for the sides. The asparagus was well cooked, but the potatoes were a bit stodgy. This place didn’t blow our minds, but it was a nice dinner in the area. Would recommend.

We had a fantastic dinner here. It’s a nice restaurant. Almost feels nicer than it is if that makes sense. Meaning it feels more dressy than it is. The bar is nice, good selection of drinks. Then there is the food. It’s really good! Everything everyone at the table had was well received. I got the famous shrimp. I will say I’m biased to steamed over fried. I would definitely go back. Left too full really but there are worse things! Get there early or be prepared to wait.
