Join us for a literary evening to celebrate some of our talented regional authors. They will each 
share their experiences of writing and their work. We will enjoy light refreshments and great 
conversation. Authors will be available to sell and sign books after the event.
Michael Balter is an Award-winning Charlevoix author. He has written two international crime 
thrillers. His latest, The Vatican Deal is the sequel to his award-winning book, Chasing Money. 
RJ Erskine is the author of four suspense novels-Casting Demons into Swine, Prometheus 
Scorned, Ghosts of Lost Dreams, and The Coigreach. While writing the series, RJ Erskine relied on 
personal experiences and events as a practicing veterinarian. 
Chris Thelen, author of Islands of Deception and Race for Redemption, writes thrillers that build on 
his years of corporate and government experience as well as his love of Michigan’s Great Lakes, 
islands, and wilderness. 
Karolyn Wallace is a children’s book author and seasoned educator. Her new book, I Love It 
When We Read Together, invites reading partners to create their own special rituals, with gentle 
prompts and charming illustrations that encourage kids to read along and spark lively 
conversations.
