Traveling with Four Legged Friends

Traveling with your four-legged best friend is always a fun, yet challenging experience. If you need a pet-friendly place to stay, eat, and explore; then don’t worry because we’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite places to visit with our fur friends.

  1. Mt. McSauba Recreation Area
    Enjoy the untapped natural beauty at the Mt. McSauba Recreation Area which offers lots of trails, a disc golf course, many ideal picnicking locations, swimming, and beaches all welcoming your dog.
  2. Antrim Creek
    Wide open spaces can be found at Antrim Creek Natural Area. This beautifully remote location is the perfect place to visit with your four-legged friend. This location has lots of space to wander through endless beaches and trials.
  3. Charles Ransom Nature Preserve
    Tucked in Charlevoix’s countryside, this nature preserve is a great place to catch a sunset with your furry friend. Whether you go for a walk, a run, your dog will thank you for the trails and fields they can frolic through.
  4. City of Charlevoix Dog Park
    Visiting Charlevoix with your fur friend? Don’t forget to visit the dog park. The City of Charlevoix's Dog Park allows for your dog to let loose, run around, play fetch, and meet new friends!
  5. Downtown Charlevoix
    With boutique shopping and quality cuisine, visitors often wonder if they can bring their dogs downtown Charlevoix. This answer is yes! Many downtown stores encourage you to bring in your dogs and or they may have treats. Some downtown restaurants will allow you to bring your dog into the outdoor seating area of their restaurants so you can enjoy a good meal in the company of your fur friend. Stop by East Park for great views, take a moment to play catch, and enjoy an evening concert in the park.
