Visit Charlevoix Hospitality Scholarships

The Charlevoix Convention & Visitors Bureau (Visit Charlevoix) Board of Directors established an annual “Hospitality Star Scholarships” for 2025. Visit Charlevoix will award two annual scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each. Preference will be given to a student, staff member, or child of an employee who works at a Visit Charlevoix member business. The applicant must meet the criteria and will be chosen by the Visit Charlevoix’s Education Committee.

Award:

  • Two annual scholarships of $1,000 may be awarded.
     

Eligibility Factors

  • Open to high school students, college students, and individuals pursuing continuing education.
  • Student or parent who works for a Visit Charlevoix member.
  • Must maintain a cumulative GPA of no less than 2.8 in high school or college.
  • Applicants may apply multiple times; however, applicants will only be eligible to receive the scholarship once.

Procedure

Submit the following:

  • Current Resume
  • Responses to questions
  • One letter of reference
  • Official transcript showing a cumulative 2.8 GPA

Criteria Used for Evaluation

  • One supportive reference, from one of the following categories: a)academic source, b) work/service source (preferably from a facility within the tourism industry)

  1. What inspired you to choose your career path? Share any personal or school experiences that helped you decide.
  2. What are your future goals in your field? How do you want to use what you've learned to help others or improve things?
  3. Why do you deserve this scholarship? Tell us about your achievements, leadership roles, or community work.
  4. What is your favorite travel experience? Why was it special, and how did it change how you think about new places or your future?
