Renowned for versatility, skill, and musicianship, The King’s Singers embrace a rich heritage and pioneering spirit to create original works and unique collaborations. The group’s musical mastery features Renaissance, Baroque, Disney, and modern as well as more than 200 commissioned pieces by prominent composers such as John Tavener, Judith Bingham, and Eric Whitacre. Current ensemble members include countertenors Patrick Dunachie and Edward Button, tenor Julian Gregory, baritones Christopher Bruerton and Nick Ashby; and Jonathan Howard, bass. The King’s Singers have maintained this voice formation since their debut. The group’s inaugural concert was in 1968 at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall with six choral scholars from King’s College, Cambridge. The King’s Singers perform more than 100 concerts annually across Europe, North America, Asia, and Australasia. Their brilliant close-harmony has garnered two Grammy Awards, an Emmy Award, and a place in Gramophone magazine’s inaugural Hall of Fame. They have released more than 150 recordings and appeared on countless TV broadcasts. In 2018, they launched The King’s Singers Global Foundation to support the creation of new music across multiple disciplines, coach a new generation of performers, and provide musical opportunities to people of all backgrounds.
