Charlevoix is a snow-filled wonderland. Not only is the snow beautiful, but it’s also an outdoor enthusiasts paradise. With so many things to do, here’s a list with a few suggestions to help you kick off your winter fun.

Views of Lake Michigan
Experience the wonder of winter on Lake Michigan. Stroll along Lake Michigan Beach or the Mount McSauba Recreation area in search of Petoskey stones. Bring your camera with you to capture amazing photos of the Charlevoix lighthouse and the amazing ice formations along the beach.
Equipment Rentals at Mt. McSauba
Traveling with kids? Mt. McSauba is a great place for kids to go sledding, ice skating, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and skiing and snowboarding. Grab a cup of hot chocolate after exploring the trials.
Hiking and Exploring
Looking to get outside for an extended hike? The Susan Creek Nature Preserve is a great place to spend a snowy afternoon exploring the Charlevoix countryside. Here’s a few more These beautiful trails are great places to sightsee: Charles Ransom Nature Preserve, Nick Adams Nature Preserve, and Driggers Nature Preserve. Join the City of Charlevoix and Visit Charlevoix every Friday, for a candlelight hike at Mt. McSauba from 5-8pm.
State Parks
Fisherman’s Island and Young State Park are two beautiful parks to discover in the winter. With great trails, views of Lake Charlevoix and Lake Michigan, don’t miss these two hidden gems.
