Learn the basics of Mokuhanga: the Japanese woodblock printmaking process that uses brushed-on watercolor pigments and rice paste, and create a multi color woodblock print. A renown artist in the field, instructor Mary Brodbeck will teach how to layout, carve, and print a multicolor design with a hand held burnishing tool called a 'baren'. All experience levels welcome. A $45 materials fee includes two 6” x 8” blocks and all other tools and supplies needed for this workshop.
