We took the short loop on a blustery March afternoon. There was a warning that water levels on the trail were high but we went for it anyway. We saw a few birds, squirrels and deer duing the hike through waterlogged trails. There were lots of downed trees, most cut out of the way but we still had to climb over a few. Overall a good adventure!

I think this was my favorite park this year. Such beautiful beach areas and the water was amazing. The campsite itself was spacious, 50 amp, but a good amount of the sites are not level. Bathrooms and showers were cleaned daily and free. Definitely bring shower shoes because they can get dirty quickly between cleanings.

It was a chilly fall weekend but it was a nice campground. Hoping to come back next summer. The beach looked nice and sandy and most of the sites looked shady.

Can’t go wrong with Michigan State Parks. Haven’t been to Young in years but I am happy to be back. Shower facilities are very nice, and even have a camp store with ping pong + ice cream. Great state park :-)

Beautiful campground, lake charlevoix access, some of the sites flood out in heavy rain. Bathrooms are clean enough for me. The camp store has all kinds of different things available to purchase or rent. Plenty of hiking trails around the grounds. The only problem with young state park are the other campers. People really complain about anything. Esp people in rvs. Turn your tv up and mind your business.
