BIG SKY BIG CANVAS 2 - day workshop JULY 30 & 31, 2024 TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY Time: 10am - 3pm REGISTER BY: July 26 CLASS FEE: $140, or 126 for members ​ FORMAT: IN-PERSON Are you interested in learning how to paint stunning landscapes with dynamic clouds and big horizons? This two-day class is the perfect opportunity to do so! You'll be working on a large 26" x 26" canvas and will begin by underpainting the entire canvas in orange to create a cohesive base. We'll then sketch out the composition before practicing basic blending techniques and cloud shapes. Using the same palette, you'll learn how to mix colors and apply them to create a vibrant sky. Finally, we'll finish by creating the foreground with color drips, palette knife blending, and oil pastels, to produce a beautiful foreground. Our experienced instructor, artist Julie Tibus, will guide you through each step of the process, providing demonstrations, coaching, and classroom time. ​ SUPPLY LIST: A variety of Acrylic Paints - Liquitex Basic Acrylics are fine: White, Payne’s Grey, Cad Yellow Med, Turquoise, Magenta, Primary Blue, Black. Various Acrylic Brushes: be sure to have a 2” flat, one flat angled, #8 round, and a Filbert brush. 26" x 26" canvas
