Long summer days, beautiful sunsets, lots of fudge and ice cream, and unique shopping. July is a great time to take a vacation and spend time in Northern Michigan.

Celebrate our country's birthday in Charlevoix area. Explore the beaches and shops of surrounding towns like Boyne City, Beaver Island, Bay Harbor, and Petoskey. Stay the weekend in centrally located Charlevoix to be in the middle of all the action. Over the course of the weekend, enjoy boating or paddling on Lake Michigan and Charlevoix. Stop by the fun holiday festivities in downtown Boyne City and wrap up the holiday weekend with fireworks in Boyne City launched over Lake Charlevoix. Petoskey, Bay Harbor, and Harbor Springs also launch fireworks over Little Traverse Bay during the 4th of July weekend.

Looking to escape the rush of the holiday? Beaver Island is the place for you. Explore this beautiful island by kayaking, hiking, biking, or boating around the island. The holiday on the island is celebrated with a parade and fireworks over St. James Harbor.

The residents of Beaver Island will tell you that the Island is the most patriotic place on the planet. During the holiday festivities, Beaver Island hosts a variety of activities including a holiday parade, kid's carnival, and a beautiful firework display.
