May is right around the corner and spring is starting to bloom in Charlevoix. It's also that time to start planning your spring getaway. Here are eight events you should check out during the month of May.
Walk/Run for a Cure Run-Walk for a Cure! This 5k race raises funds for the community hospital to help support individuals battling breast cancer. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the walk/run begins at 9 a.m.
Boyne City Morel Mushroom Festival For a few short days, everything is all about mushrooms. Restaurants prepare exotic, morel-laden entrees, local songsters sing of the morel, secret hunting places (maybe) and recipes (definitely) are shared, and everybody goes on one of the mushroom hunts.
Opening Farmer’s Market From just-picked flowers and produce to baked goods and canned items, there is something for everyone! Special events at the Farmer's Market include children's story time, seminars on floral arranging and gardening, cooking demonstrations, hands-on children's activities, and lots of samples!
Memorial Day Parade | May 27 Charlevoix honors the men and women who gave their lives to protect our great country. Charlevoix’s Memorial Day observances are planned for 10 a.m. Monday, May 27, starting with a parade in downtown Charlevoix followed by a short remembrance ceremony in East Park.
