Smoke on the Water is first and foremost a BBQ joint. They slow-smoke their meats with various fruit woods and maple wood in their smoker that sits right outside the restaurant. SOW prides itself on serving made-from-scratch food, including their own Challah bread used in their Drunken French Toast. They deliver to all downtown businesses and the marina. They are located next to Hoffman Park which overlooks the channel. Come in and borrow a blanket for a picnic.

The food was delicious! My husband really loved the drunken French toast, and I loved my regular challah toast! The servers were friendly and helpful! There was a wait to dine (good things come to those that wait) as the dining room and outdoor seating are limited. This should be a must stop on your visit to Charlevoix!

What a great place and concept. Food and service were top notch. Had the brisket hash and added two eggs over easy. Everything cooked perfectly. BBQ sauce is one of the best I've had. Bought a pint to take home. Wife and kids had French toast which is housemade and very delicious. Went early and beat the rush.

Might be, the very best breakfast spot ever. We came on a whim and it’s so good. We got the sour cream pancake, breakfast sandwich and hash browns. The Red Hot Griff hot sauce is so good and I don’t even like hot sauce. We will be back if we’re in the area!

If you are on a schedule, come back in November when they aren’t busy. 20 min wait for table, 30 min wait for food & 10 min walk down Park back to the only parking spot could find. Brisket Dip Sandwich with apple laced coleslaw and fresh made kettle chips. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

I don’t like to complain, but this was absolutely unacceptable. We arrived for lunch at 11:25, waiting 20 mins to be seated. That was understandable for a Saturday. But after being seated , we waited until 12:50 for our lunch. With ordering 2 omelettes, and a side of bacon and side of links for the kids, why in the world would it take over an hour for that food. Once the food came it was not even cooked completely. My daughters links were pink and not cooked as well. The Waiter apologized and removed the omelette of the bill. But it was not worth the wait. Very disappointed.
