Craft Beer, Wine, Distilleries

Taste the local flavor

Calling all craft beverage drinkers! Northern Michigan welcomes you to try our beer, wine, and spirits. Below are some of our favorites close to Charlevoix:

Charlevoix

Bier's Inwood Brewery
Nestled in the historic Inwood area, 6 miles south of Charlevoix, you can find them brewing beer in the traditional way while incorporating new ingredients for innovative flavors. Their menu consists of 11 tap lines rotating between many styles of beer and hard cider all brewed in small batches on-premise. If beer isn’t your thing they also have an incredible selection of Michigan-made wine & fruit wine.

1918 Cellars
This winery is located on the breathtaking grounds of Castle Farms. The Tavern features a barn wood ceiling built in the 1960s and a herringbone-pattern floor with tiles dating back to the original 1918 construction. 1918 Cellars has something for everyone offering twelve different varieties of red, white, and ciders. Castle Farms offers a variety of fun activities including wine and yoga events, farm-to-table dinners, twilight tours, and so much more.

Blu Dot Farm and Vineyard
Uniquely located between the shores of Lake Charlevoix and Lake Michigan. The Great Lakes vastly influence our terroir, which makes their estate ideal for growing grapes. They offer a relaxed setting for you to enjoy sips, snacks, and the surrounding farm and vineyard views. They offer wine by the glass, bottle, or tasting both indoor and outdoor.

Folklor Wine and Cider
They believe that delicious wines and ciders start in the field with healthy soil, well-cared-for plants, and a thriving ecosystem. It's part of their winemaking philosophy too - to let the fruit shine and add or take away as little as possible on its journey to the bottle. Folklor wines and ciders reflect the liquid landscape of Northern Michigan and everything it has to offer.

Lost Cellars
Lost Cellars, formerly Charlevoix Moon Vineyard, is located just north of the 45th Parallel, about two miles east of Lake Michigan in the Tip of the Mitt American Viticultural Area (AVA).  These small batch award-winning wines represent the best of northern Michigan, with both estate grapes and select local fruit to curate a collection of specialty wines enthusiasts search out.

Spare Key Winery
Family is the Key to their vineyard and winery. In 2011 we began with just 400 vines, and with the help from their family and friends planting, trimming, and harvesting, they have continued to expand each year. The Spare Key Winery is one of the few estate-grown and bottled wineries in Northern Michigan, meaning their wines are made from grapes grown in their vineyard and processed on-site by their team.

Vue Wine Bar
With their world-class wine selection, mouth-watering treats, and unbeatable view, they are sure to be one of your favorite spots in Charlevoix.  Join them for a glass of wine or a cocktail, gather with friends, and watch time float by from indoors or out.

Atwood/Ellsworth

Located directly off of US 31, Royal Farms Farm Market and Winery is a must-stop for wine and cider lovers.

With breathtaking countryside views and farmhouse decor, this idyllic tasting room offers bountiful fruit flavors harvested from the farm's vines and orchards.
