Michigan Made

We’re pretty proud of all of the great products created here in Michigan and in honor of Michigan’s craftiness, we’ve compiled a list of food products that are made right here in the Charlevoix area. We’ve tried each of these products and recommend you do the same! Many are available for shipping right to your door, or you can find them on your next trip to Charlevoix.

  • Sweet Treats
It’s no secret that Northern Michigan is known for its abundance of specialty fudge and sweet shops. Kilwins and Celeste Murdick’s Fudge and Candy Kitchen are offering guests a great selection of specialty treats. Whatever type of fudge, ice cream, or hand-dipped candy you are looking for, they have it.  With so many great options, it’s hard to pick a favorite flavor.
  • Maple Syrup
Parson’s Farm, aka Harwood Gold, has earned a reputation for producing high-quality and innovative maple syrup blends. Some of their best-selling infusions include ghost pepper, hazelnut, and bourbon. Feeling adventurous? To spice up your next backyard cookout, try their Farm Style Maple BBQ sauce!

Curry's Farm is a local maple syrup producer that has been around for six generations! They specialize in 100% pure, natural, and unrefined maple syrup. You are sure to enjoy the simple pleasure of sweet maple syrup.
  • Beer, Wine and Spirits
Northern Michigan is home to some of the best craft breweries in the US and we would be remiss not to highlight their awesomeness. Bier's Inwood Brewery and Shorts produce an amazing assortment of craft beer. Looking for something without hops? Mammoth Distilling, located in Central Lake and Bay Harbor, produces whiskey, bourbon, gin, rye, rum, and vodka. Their tasting rooms offer an excellent selection of mixed drinks that feature their high-quality spirits. The Petoskey Wine Region is home to wineries within the Charlevoix and Petoskey countryside. Local wineries close to Charlevoix include FolkLor Wine and Cidar, Lost Cellars, Blu Dot Farm and Vineyard, 1918 Cellars, and Spare Key Winery.
  • Apple Orchards
The Charlevoix area is home to several exceptional orchards including King’s Orchards, Friske Orchard, and Royal Farms. Each of these local farms has a great selection of apples, cherries, baked goods, and produce available at their farm markets. Take an orchard tour, sample a piece of apple pie, and enjoy a day on the farm.
  • Jams and Spreads
American Spoon is a community staple. This local shop serves up a variety of jams and other delicious treats. Everything they make is made in small batches and cooked with care in their copper kettles. Some of their most popular items include sour cherry preserves, lemon curd, Bartlett pear preserve, and apple butter.
  • Cherry Republic
Located downtown Charlevoix, Cherry Republic is a Michigan favorite with its cherry salsa, dried cherries, and cherry almond butter.
  • Cooking Oils
For the gourmet cook, Fustini’s Oils and Vinegar is known for its selection of cooking oil and vinegar. The Lake House, located in downtown Charlevoix, stocks an assortment Fustini’s products. We really enjoy their basil, garlic, and chipotle-infused virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
  • Homemade Mustard
Founded in 2004 as a summer job for Mike, Mike’s Mustard has grown into year-round availability of their four flavors of tasty, gourmet mustard. You can find them at the Farmer's Market from May through October where you can sample and find all of their products and you can also be found at local restaurants and specialty stores.
